Weird Tales is behind (geddit? behind? tales?)

I read on a F & SF author website that Weird Tales is several months behind on submissions. I sent a story there two months ago and I haven't gotten my rejection yet. Guess I won't hold my breath.

Re:Weird Tales is behind (geddit? behind? tales?)

Just got an update on my writer's market online. They consider Weird Tales dead. Then again, they were dead before and came back.

I'm not a complete idiot -- some parts are missing.

Weird Tales is kind of like Velveeta, IMO...it may sit around for months at a time, doing nothing and looking moribund, but it never really dies. Laughing out loud
If you wait a few more weeks, you'll probably hear from them. According to Ralan.com, they're not dead, but seriously overstocked.

Have you submitted to them before, and if so, what kind of comments have you gotten? I've gotten everything from "close, but we didn't like the ending" to a snippy little two-line rejection note followed by pages of manuscript formatting guidelines (which I was following, thank you very much).

Pohl's Law: A sufficiently advanced form of technology is indistinguishable from magic. Programmer's Corollary: A sufficiently rigged demo is indistinguishable from magic.

I thought that was Clarke's law.

Could be, Bob, I'd have to go back and check my quotes. :::sigh:::

I thought it was Clark's law also.

Fred, can I quote you on that?
