For my choice of annoyances, I'm trying to hone in on basic needs and how they might be addressed in the future.

Note, this is a work in process.

1. Self-cleaning clothes. Clothes in the future will be made of fabrics that never get dirty or smelly and don’t get damaged with regular use. Styles, of course will still change as often as they ever have. This means that there will be a virtually unlimited supply of hand-me-down clothes since very few people want to keep the same outfit forever, or even for very long in many cases. On every street corner will be boxes of used clothes.

Annoyance: Don’t you hate it when the shirt you bought and had in the closet until last week shows up on one of your associates.

2. Healthy food. In the future, all food will be healthy and balanced. It might look and taste like junk food, but it will be balanced with everything the body needs for proper nutrition. So it won’t matter what you eat because everything beneath the surface taste and texture is the same healthful thing that you could eat as a raw, tasteless paste, or have it flavored and prepared in any imaginable way.

Annoyance: It takes a special machine to prepare ‘food paste’ into real food and while the machines are not expensive, the recipes (programs to produce particular types of food products) can be very pricey.
