Cool! But tell me, did Kali's knee pads fit through that wee gap? It looks like a fabulous amount of fun. Being built more like Brunhilde, I'll leave the serious spelunking to you pros. Thanks for sharing the pics!

Her kneepads did fit. They may be made out of Kevlar, but they do compress. However, this passage is dangerously close to becoming a "pants free" zone. That extra fraction of an inch of tearable (pun intended) clothing makes a big difference. No one has doffed the pants (or belt) yet, but I'm planning a return trip in two weeks. We'll see what comes off then...

And Now For Something Completely Different: Brunnhilde's Delight, a very, very small squeeze within Wind Cave, South Dakota

The first picture is my friend Tom in Brunnhilde's Delight. Note the helmet (and his head) for scale... No one had returned through this passage since 1974, and for good reason; this area of the cave is for the SSS only, "The Skinny Speleological Society". One must compress your body to fit through this 6 to 7 inch passageway. Brunnhilde herself would never have fit through this nastiness.

This second picture includes, me, Tom, and my friend Kali, after having survived Brunnhilde's Delight on the way to our survey area. Lots of good cave to explore in this area. Of course, we still had to squeeze back through Brunnhilde's Delight in order to return to the surface world...
