Of course posting three ideas is just a suggestion but since I wrote the prompt I figure I should follow it as well as I can.

  1. Don’t you hate it when they change your DNA and don’t tell you.

This implies a virus/crispr technique to edit someone's DNA. The why could be to influence people’s decisions. There are various fungi and other infectious things that cause bugs and I think even mice to behave in a manner not conducive to survival. Aside from military uses this can be used to influence purchases, voting, and other things. People have to go in for virus scans, like computers, to see if they have been infected.

  1. Don’t you hate recalls and updates.

Some update breaks something you are dependent on. So you have to update that but it undos the first update. Maybe some DNA patch to keep you from getting a terrible disease is recalled and you are now vulnerable.

  1. Don’t you hate it when when you go in for a memory refresh and they give you someone else's’s memories.

Something causes people to have weak long term memories. Maybe it is a very long life or maybe some disease causes one to forget easily. Or simply fun, you want to remember the event as if it had happened yesterday. Or you want to remember someone else's events.
So far not too evil but what if you get some killers memories and you think you have killed these people. And the real killer now wants to kill you to keep you from talking. Or the government wants to erase someone and every one who knew him is getting a surreptitious memory wipe.
