OK, I'm nuts. I'm crazy as a loon. I'm a fool.

I signed up for NaNoWriMo again this year.

I figured that it would help spur me to finishing up some writing projects. The hand of Fate twists strangely. I was set up to finish the novel (working title: Wasted Journeys, a space opera) that I haven't been able to complete for the past two years... only 4 chapters so far, but I have lots of notes, chapter details, etc. to make the writing go fast. But that's not what I decided to do.

At the last moment, well, Saturday, something strange happened. I found myself setting up a set of work files and creating characters and outlines for my GenE timeline (working title: Ten Thousand Squared). The die was cast. I've wanted to do that for a long time now, but could never seem to get started. Over the weekend, I managed to get 4500 words of story done. An admirable start and just about the most I can write in two days. If early indications hold true, I'll be able to win at least four years worth of NaNo's with this one. I think the whole set of stories for my 10K year timeline will easily exceed 200K words. Is that because I have that much to say, or am I just writing fat. Only editing will tell.
