Sorry to hear about the problems with elevators. I assume that this is some kind if crumbling infrastructure problem ;) You wrote a story about elevators once, SF writers are supposed to foretell the future but this is freaky.

It's been nearly five months since I've been active around here. That's what happens when you spend too much time underground. I should add up how many hours I spent in Wind Cave this summer. I mapped around 2500 feet of new cave. Wind Cave is currently 125 miles long and the fourth longest cave in the world.

Now I've returned to Michigan. I don't start work until October, which gives me two weeks (now one week) to actually do some writing. One week into this writing festival, and all is going well! I've revised a quarter of my caving novel, and it's actually getting better. Way cool! I've also done significant editing for the roleplaying company I work/volunteer for. Does free merchandise count as payment?

I'm attending a children's writers conference in October and I've gotten an critique with an editor. Should be interesting. The stuff I'm working on now is my best stuff yet. We'll see what people say come the 12-14.

I performed three elevator rescues this summer season. Count them, three! That's three more than most lead rangers have done in their careers!
