Introduction

After the great magic manifestation of 2018, which many believe to be due to the praying and cursing before and after the elections of 2016, a surprisingly cooperative congress passed a series of laws to ease the transition into the new scheme of things. The first law passed which basically said use common sense was deemed by the courts to be to difficult for lawyers to understand so a more detailed and legalese sounding series of laws were passed.

Definitions

Other realms, planes of existence, worlds, dimensions, phases, etc are considered the same except where noted and are to be referred to as other realms.

Weapons

Possession of any physical device, amulet, wand, etc which can harm humans or other magical beast in an aimed manner is classified as a gun and it considered under the auspices of the 2^nd amendment. Weapons which can kill or injure in a rapid manner are considered machine guns and fall under the 1934 firearms law. Weapons which can devastate an area are considered explosives and are covered under the laws governing such.

Animals

Werewolves must be in possession of a current werewolf license while in werewolf form and be on a leash or otherwise constrained.

Vampires need a medical license to draw blood.

Unicorns are considered exotic animals and need import licenses.

Three headed dogs need one license unless a cut off had grows a new body. In that case each head requires a license.

Type V(viral) zombies are considered a varmint and may be killed, if that is the right word, at any time. Some states with a severe problem pay bounties.

Type P(possessed) are considered as illegally drugged and must be restrained until they can be released from their bondage.

Spells

Spells are considered Intellectual Property and copyright or patent laws apply except in the case of spells found in archaic documents which are in the public domain. Special courts for spells have been established.

Spells for conjuring demons are not covered by the 2^nd amendment and licenses or permits must be obtained.

Taxes

Property taxes on disappearing castles are assessed on a pro-rata schedule only if the land is available for other uses while the castle is not present.

Lead is taxed as gold when in the possession of an alchemist to the amount that can be converted and is discounted by the cost of the materials needed to convert it to gold.

Homes that travel to other planes are taxed as mobile homes.

Deductions for magic paraphernalia is a business expense up to the profit of the magical business.

Deals with the devil are assessed with a zero basis for your soul.

Miscellaneous

All visitors from other planes of existence require visas and immigration services.

Travel to other realms requires a special endorsement on your passport. This is obtainable from only a few select offices and must be obtained two weeks before travel.
